Founded in 1980, Pender Press was created by Marilyn Boyle Taylor to allow her to have full creative control over the publication of her writing and art. The first release, lying still, was a chapbook of poetry.

In 2023, Pender Press experienced a revival with Marilyn Boyle Taylor’s first historical romance novel, Dream’s End: A Tale of Nantucket. They are now working to make lying still available, along with future work.
